Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Clayze ("Clayze," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Clayze mobile app and related services (the "Service"). By using Clayze, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address and a password (passwords are stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider). If you sign in with Apple, we receive the account identifier Apple provides and, unless you choose to hide it, your email address.
- Profile information. Your username, display name, bio, profile photo, and any optional details you add (such as your studio or website link).
- Content you create. Photos of your pottery, captions, the clay bodies, glazes, and firing details you log, comments, likes, and direct messages you send to other users.
- Support communications. Information you provide when you contact us for help.
Information collected automatically
- Device & push tokens. If you enable notifications, we store a push notification token so we can deliver alerts to your device.
- Usage information. Basic technical information needed to operate the app, such as actions taken in the app and error logs.
2. How we use your information
- To create and maintain your account and profile.
- To provide core features — cataloging pieces, logging glazes and firings, and the community feed.
- To deliver notifications you have enabled (such as new followers, comments, likes, and messages).
- To screen uploaded images for prohibited content (see "Image moderation" below).
- To respond to your support requests.
- To maintain the security and integrity of the Service and to comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. Image moderation
To keep the community safe, images you upload may be automatically screened by a third-party moderation service before they appear publicly. This screening is used solely to detect prohibited content (such as explicit or violent imagery). If the moderation service cannot verify an image, the upload is declined.
4. How information is shared
We share information only in these circumstances:
- With other users. Your profile and any content you choose to share to the community (pieces, posts, comments) are visible to other users. Content you keep private, and your direct messages, are not posted publicly. Privacy settings in the app let you control what is shared.
- With service providers who operate the Service on our behalf, including:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and image storage hosting;
- Expo — push notification delivery;
- Sightengine — automated image moderation / content screening;
- RevenueCat — subscription management and purchase validation;
- Apple — app distribution, in-app purchases, and, during testing, TestFlight.
- For legal reasons — if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Clayze, our users, or the public.
5. Data retention & deletion
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Privacy → Delete Account inside the app. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, pottery pieces, posts, comments, messages, and uploaded images. This action cannot be undone. You may also email us to request deletion.
6. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's privacy
Clayze is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can update most information directly in the app, delete your account as described above, or contact us to exercise these rights.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
